2025 Year in Review: Savings, Innovation & an Exceptional Team

Modified on

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re proud to look back on a year defined by customer savings, operational excellence, and major strides in protecting Florida homeowners. Here’s a look at what made this year exceptional.

Smart Home Water Protection: Record Growth, Major Savings & Stronger Homes

Our Smart Home Water Protection Program reached extraordinary new heights in 2025.

This year, we doubled the percentage of policies protected with activated sensors, giving more homeowners the benefit of proactive leak detection—at no additional cost to them.

That protection delivered real impact:

  • $3.6 million in premium savings for policyholders through our exclusive 40% water premium discount
  • $4.7 million in prevented potential water damage
  • Fewer claims and increased stability across our book of business

A Year of Stability, Performance & Legislative Progress

2025 was also a standout year for financial stability at VYRD.

Thanks to a “no hurricane” year and our continued focus on claims discipline, our attritional loss ratio improved significantly. This reduction in everyday, non-catastrophe claims strengthens our foundation for sustainable pricing and long-term stability.

We also continued to see the positive effects of recent Florida legislative reforms, which have contributed to less fraud and reduced litigation activity. This healthier environment allows insurers like VYRD to offer more competitive rates and greater stability for homeowners.

These combined factors helped support our –1.3% statewide rate decrease that took effect on June 1, 2025—representing approximately $1.4 million in total savings for our policyholders.

Strengthening the Heart of VYRD: Our Claims Team

Our Claims Team is at the core of our service promise, and this year we focused heavily on building a high-performing group dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences.

In 2025, we welcomed several new experts who have already elevated our claims service:

  • Maria Kopsa – Claims Manager
  • Dorothy Nguyen – Complex Claims Supervisor
  • Abigail Wik – Complex Claims Team Lead
  • Jacob Bashor – Complex Claims Adjuster

Their expertise has helped streamline processes, accelerate response times, and support a claims journey that is faster, clearer, and more personalized for every customer we serve.

Welcoming Our Agency Relationship Director: Renee Coffman

This year, we were also thrilled to welcome Renee Coffman to VYRD as our Agency Relationship Director.

With 12 years of experience in vendor restoration, complex resolution, and CAT planning, Renee brings a powerful blend of operational knowledge and relationship-driven leadership. She specializes in turning sensitive issues into opportunities to strengthen trust—benefiting both our agency partners and their clients.

Her arrival marks an important step in expanding the support and service we provide to the agency community.

Looking Ahead to 2026: A Year to Make Our Mark

As we turn our focus to 2026, our theme is clear: Make Our Mark.

We’re entering the year with strong momentum, a dedicated team, and a continued commitment to innovation. From expanding tech-driven protection to deepening partnerships and elevating customer experience, we’re ready to set new standards for what Florida homeowners can expect from their insurance company.

Together—with our policyholders, partners, and team—we’re poised to truly Make Our Mark in 2026.
